Call him Mustapha, not Tekno’s Mufasa! His name is Mustapha, not Mufasa! If you’re as enamored with that song as I am, you might want to dance whenever you hear the name Mustapha.

Now FOCUS! The dictionary defines exceptional as unusual, not typical. So, let me add mine: EXCEPTIONAL deviates from the norm and is simple. Folks, I attended Ghana’s Fastest Sports event recently, and that’s when I met and connected with my first EXCEPTIONAL person, the Honorable Mustapha Ussif, Minister for Youth and Sports. Why do I refer to a gentleman I met as exceptional? He did not put up any airs and graces when he introduced himself to me as Mustapha. His humility was striking, and I was impressed because nothing about his demeanor reeked, “Hi, I am a pompous member of parliament; call me Honorable Mustapha Ussif.” like some of ‘them’ do. His down-to-earth nature was truly inspiring. I observed him engrossed in the track and field event, cheering and clapping as the young athletes competed. Wow! I thought he was a regular Joe sitting in the crowd, cheering on the athletes! He even agreed to take a picture with me, Akua Dede Asempe! Wow!

Exceptional? Heck yeah! Mustapha’s record as the Minister for Youth and Sports speaks for itself. With over three years in this role, Mustapha has become the second longest-serving Minister of Youth & Sports since the late E.T. Mensah. His dedication, commitment, unwavering passion, and vision have transformed the lives of countless young individuals, empowering them to reach new heights. Under Mustapha’s guidance, many youths in Ghana have flourished in various sports and activities, such as football, athletics, and boxing, developing essential skills, building confidence, and fostering a sense of community. His impact on the community is undeniable; we all share this pride and belonging.

Did I mention that Mustapha plays a dual role? He is also a member of Parliament, representing the Yagaba-Kubori Constituency in the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana. In addition, he is a dedicated member of the New Patriotic Party, where he plays a crucial role in shaping Ghana’s governance, policy, and development. In recent times, Honorable Ussif inaugurated a Nursing and Midwifery College in his Constituency, further demonstrating his commitment to improving healthcare and education in the region.

Let us recognize and celebrate Mustapha’s exceptional leadership, devotion to the welfare of the youth, and unwavering commitment to excellence in sports and taking care of his constituency as a member of Parliament. Mustapha inspires us all, and we are deeply grateful for his service. His dedication to the welfare of the youth, unwavering commitment to excellence in sports, and care for his constituency as a member of Parliament are truly commendable. We appreciate his efforts and respect his leadership. Our gratitude towards him is immense.

Oh, dear Lord, look at the time! Time flies when Asempe is having fun! Folks, it’s my favorite Nutri-Health’s Hibiscus tea time! Slurp! Slurp! Slurp! I’ve been on a quest to meet the EXCEPTIONAL person behind the tea that saved me from getting COVID-19 and the tea that continues to help build my immune system…Soon come!
